website not availableRegain consists of 3 qualified nurses and offers interventions to people experiencing difficulties with alcohol in the Wansbeck area and includes alcohol home detoxification. The service works in partnership with ESCAPE family support and can therefore better offer a range of interventions tailored to the individual based on assessed need. Individuals can self refer or via their GP.
The service is for anyone meeting the following criteria:
• Aged 18 and over
• Live in the Wansbeck area (NE22, NE62, NE63)
• Experiencing difficulties with alcohol
• Have given informed consent & have expressed motivation to change.
Working hours 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday.
Those affected by other's alcohol use could refer themselves to ESCAPE Family Support 01670 858828 (Ashington) or 01670 544055 (Blyth).

www.sotw.nhs.uk/services/alcoholservice/South Tyneside’s Drug and Alcohol Service is an integrated drug and alcohol treatment service provided by NHS South of Tyne and Wear.
It provides specialist treatment and care to people who experience problems with alcohol and/or drugs by working closely with other health, public and voluntary services. The Team is made up of individuals from a range of backgrounds, all having different skills and abilities, including qualified nurses, social workers, support workers, project development staff and administrators.
Staff are located across South Tyneside, but will always try to meet service users at locations that are best suited or most accessible to them. These locations include:
- GP surgeries
- Social Service Offices
- Health Centres
- Home visits
- Drug and Alcohol services’ premises across South Tyneside
- Other appropriate venues of service user’s choice
NECA provides a free, specialist and confidential service including 1 to 1 support, complimentary therapies and Brief Interventions to clients who are experiencing problems related to the use of Alcohol, Drugs and Gambling, either their own or those people who have concerns regarding someone else’s substance use (called “Non-User Support”).

The OASIS Project which provides accurate, appropriate and factual information which is accessible and meaningful to all, offering advice and information to drug and alcohol users as well as friends, families, the wider community and other professionals.
Counseling is provided by experienced friendly counsellors who have specific experience in helping people deal with alcohol related issues. A Brief Intervention Service is available via referrals, usually from primary care and other partner agencies.
NECA workers provides assessment, brief intervention, extended brief interventions where appropriate and advice and information. The interventions offered specifically support patients who are in the higher and increasing risk categories of drinking to reduce their levels of consumption.

The group places a large emphasis on peer support and the development of social inclusion; it offers a variety of activities which range from breakfast mornings to structured activities such as beach walks and visits to places of interest. The group will also support those who wish to enter into more structured forms of peer support and therapeutic interventions such as Alcoholics Anonymous.

Service: DAMH offers help and advice to carers and friends who need support themselves in looking after a person tackling a craving for drugs and alcohol. It is a confidential helping agency that offers advice on how to cope, and through our network of support agencies we can offer expert advice from basic alcohol awareness to financial or housing advice.

Eligibility Criteria: Young people under 18 who are experiencing difficulties associated with the use of drugs and alcohol.
Service: N2L is a service for young people who live in North Tyneside who have concerns or are experiencing difficulties associated with the use of substances (drugs, alcohol and solvents). We can provide information, advice and support. N2L workers are friendly, knowledgeable, competent and have extensive experience of working with young people.
Offer community detoxification, other pharmacological and psychosocial interventions for clients scoring 20 or more on AUDIT and assessed as physically dependant, dual diagnosis, pregnant or complex needs.
